After cleaning up the injection system, and I found a place near college that sells Podium grade gas at a discount for university students. No more regular or premium gas for this guy, and that makes me really happy.

Kinja'd!!!

That's all.

What's Podium grade gas? Something of the sort of BP Ultimate?

I'm not really familiar with BP Ultimate, but I believe it is, yes. Here's a handy comparison table from Petrobrás' website:

Kinja'd!!!

It only compares fuel grades based on their octane and antidetonation ratings, but what really matters to me here is that Podium gas has low sulfur content and gas stations need a special permit to carry it in order to maintain quality and prevent owners from cutting it with water, thinner and other solvents.

I think Kinja killed the table.

Yeah... I'm working on it, maybe it'll come back if I edit it in and out... Meanwhile, Here's a direct link that should open it right up...

If I remember correctly, the ECU was set for 91~93 octane fuel back in 2007 after the rebuild, but as long as it doesn't get covered in carbon deposits again, I'm happy.

I see. Judging by the data from that table, I'd say it's about 100 RON, which is the same octane rating Ultimate has. Must be pricey though, even with your country being an oil producer and all...

3,99... Pretty much 4 bucks per liter, but my student ID knocks the price down a little, so it's about the same as what I used to pay for 91-octane V-Power at a Shell station near my place.

That's, of course, before the 91-Octane V-Power was withdrawn from the market in the middle of the night, which explains why the Tipo started knocking halfway through last year...

3.99?! what's the exchange rate to USD? we pay 3.99 USD for four times the premium gas!

4 reais convert to 1.68 dollar, so it's 1.68 a liter, a gallon is around 3.78 liters... So, 6.35 dollars per gallon. Cheap!

ok, that's not that bad. Hving lived in Serbia a while ago, I remember premium was the equivalent of $6-ish a gallon. Yay for cheap fuel in the US I guess!
